PIEP is a private association, with a technological and scientific matrix and a business management model.
Founded on December 13, 2000, by an initiative from industry and in collaboration with the UMINHO – Polymer Engineering Department and the Institute for Small and Medium Enterprises and Innovation (IAPMEI), PIEP intends to provide a prompt answer in the delivery of products and services, oriented to the R&D+i needs from companies in the plastics and related sectors, through innovation activities, technology transfer, technical-scientific consultancy, and services provision.
PIEP acts in the provision of testing and failure analysis, the new materials and products development, processing technologies and productive tools, based on the elevation of the sustainable development, circular economy and environment.
PIEP also contributes to training, supporting human resources development with competence and experience in industrial innovation focused on polymer engineering.
