ForestWISE is the Collaborative Laboratory for Integrated Forest and Fire Management and its mission is to promote integrated forest and fire management based on (co)research, innovation and knowledge and technology transfer activities. In addition to sustainable forest management, ForestWISE’s objectives are to contribute to the enhancement of forest products and services, to reduce the negative consequences of large rural fires, to increase the competitiveness of the Portuguese forestry sector, to stimulate the sustainable development of low-density territories and the promotion of scientific employment in these areas.
