ABC CoLAB – Ageing Better, unites 12 partners from academia, business, and government in a triple helix innovation ecosystem (www.ageingbettercolag.org). Established in 2022 and based at the University of Algarve, ABC CoLAB is dedicated to address ageing through an integrative approach. Our multidisciplinary team consists of 14 distinguished PhD members, 7 esteemed collaborators, and 4 enthusiastic MSc students, all committed to impact ageing through innovation.

Our mission is to transform scientific discoveries into innovative products and impactful interventions that enhance quality of life and promote longevity. ABC CoLAB’s research is built on four pillars:

• Health and Biomedicine, focusing on ageing biology, rejuvenation technologies, prevention of age-related diseases and treatment strategies;

• Social Sciences,promoting social integration, care innovation, and health literacy;
• Technology, advancing digitalization, AI and ICT solutions for health and social care; and
• Tourism, specializing in health, wellness, and senior tourism, alongside with tourism digitalization.

By prioritizing high-impact areas, so far we have secured over 3 million euros in funding to transform research into innovative real-world solutions, diversifying regional and national economies. By creating a unique hub for research and innovation in ageing, we aim to address societal challenges while fostering collaboration across sectors, ensuring a lasting impact on individuals and communities.
