Type of Support and Geographic Coverage
This notice supports operations that contribute to enhancing the economic valorization of R&D (Research and Development) results produced by the R&I (Research and Innovation) system, as well as reinforcing the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge to the business sector in less-developed regions of Continental Portugal NUTS II (North, Center, and Alentejo).
Based on the Priority Domains of the Regional Strategy for Intelligent Specialization – EREI 2030, it encompasses actions that allow:
- Strengthening the economic orientation of the network of intermediary R&I institutions, promoting the creation and development of new channels and formats for valorization, transfer, and dissemination of knowledge to the economic sector, particularly through promoting phases of testing and pre-commercial validation of research projects with economic potential, and the creation, reinforcement, and training of platforms and means for dissemination, demonstration, and knowledge transfer to the business community, as well as promoting innovative ideas developed by researchers within the R&I system;
- Quantitatively and qualitatively increasing information directed at the business sector regarding the relevance and impact of innovation based on knowledge and collaboration among companies, particularly SMEs, and the network of non-business R&I entities, especially through dissemination and demonstration actions;
- Increasing the level of valorization, transfer, and exploration of scientific and technological knowledge through methodologies and proprietary management tools (e.g., patents);
- Producing and disseminating relevant information on new opportunities for knowledge valorization and transfer.
This notice applies to less-developed regions in Continental Portugal NUTS II (North, Center, and Alentejo), and the effects of the operations supported must impact at least two of these three regions.
Form of Support
The support provided is in the form of a non-repayable grant.
