INOV 4 COVID-19 CALL
Given the declaration of a state of emergency in Portugal due to the epidemiological situation caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus and COVID-19, and in the context of the Resolution of the Council of Ministers (RCM 24/2020) of April 14, the Agência Nacional de Inovação, S.A. (ANI, S.A.), in collaboration with the Agência de Investigação Clínica e Inovação Biomédica (AICIB), offers support and reimbursable financing for the immediate development of ongoing R&D projects and technological innovation initiatives. These projects, developed by Interface Centers and Collaborative Laboratories, aim to meet the immediate and medium-term needs of the National Health Service (SNS).

Interface Centers (CIT) and Collaborative Laboratories (CoLAB).
FINANCING
The available budget is 4 million euros.

1. “Atena” Project | CEiiA
Design, production, and industrialization of a simple-assembly invasive medical ventilator, for decentralized production in hospital environments. The project includes the design, testing, and preparation of the industrialization process in Portugal, with an estimated production of 1,500 ventilators in 2020.
2. Solidarity Footwear @FOOTURE Project | CTCP
An initiative that mobilizes companies from the footwear cluster, plastic components, and fashion sectors, with the main goal of certifying personal protective equipment (PPE), including footwear, masks, and visors.
3. COVID-19 Tests | iBET
Development of faster and cheaper COVID-19 tests, which will increase global testing capacity by up to six times by replacing the qRT-PCR-based method with a more sensitive and affordable method using simpler reagents and equipment.
