Type of Support and Geographic Coverage
This notice supports Research and Development (R&D) operations in the co-promotion modality, carried out between companies and/or with Non-Business Entities of the R&I System (ENESII). These operations must align with the priority domains of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization (RIS3), and include investments in industrial research and experimental development activities, stimulating their economic valorization and the promotion of innovation.
Operations eligible for support include activities of industrial research and experimental development, leading to the creation of new products, processes, or services, or the introduction of significant improvements in existing products, processes, or services.
This notice applies to Low-Density Territories in the NUTS II regions of Mainland Portugal (North, Center, Alentejo, and Algarve), as defined by CIC Portugal 2020 (Low-Density Territories). The project’s location corresponds to the region where the investment is implemented.
Form of Support
The support provided is in the form of a non-repayable grant.

Application Period
The application period starts on 30/11/2023, with evaluations and decisions carried out in the following phases:
- Phase 1: 22/02/2024 (6:00 PM) – exclusively for applicants who registered an aid request through Notice No. 01/RPA/2022.
- Phase 2: 30/04/2024 (6:00 PM) – for all applications, with or without aid request registration through Notice No. 01/RPA/2022.
- Phase 3: 30/08/2024 (6:00 PM) – for all applications, with or without aid request registration through Notice No. 01/RPA/2022.
- Phase 4: 30/12/2024 (6:00 PM) – for all applications, with or without aid request registration through Notice No. 01/RPA/2022.
Aid Request Registrations (RPA No. 01/RPA/2022 for R&D) can be used in any R&D notice where this possibility is provided. These RPAs can only be used in a single application.
