HORIZON EUROPE

Horizon Europe is the current European Union Framework Program for Research and Innovation. It started on January 1, 2021, and is set to conclude on December 31, 2027, with a budget allocation of €95.5 billion to support research and innovation activities.

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER NETWORK – TTO

Technology Transfer Offices (TTO) are the structures responsible for technology transfer and valorization activities, playing a central role in the valorization of knowledge produced in the various research centers and laboratories of national Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

“Big Science” is a concept that encompasses scientific projects with high levels of ambition and technological challenge, requiring the coordination of large teams of scientists and engineers, as well as significant investments.

The goal of the Eureka Network is to promote the growth of start-ups, SMEs, large companies, research centers, and universities by providing funding and support for international cooperation in R&D, as well as offering services to help access investment.

CTI NETWORK

Technology and Innovation Centers (CTI) help companies identify market needs and, through research, apply innovative technologies to address these challenges and increase efficiency.

CoLAB NETWORK

The CoLABs include institutions from science, technology, higher education, and companies, working together to identify national challenges and provide innovative solutions, directly applied to the market.

TECHNOLOGICAL FREE ZONES

Technological Free Zones (ZLT) are physical environments, geographically located, in real or near-real settings, used for testing and experimentation, with the support and supervision of the relevant competent entities.

Born from Knowledge (BfK) is a program promoted by Agência Nacional de Inovação, S.A. (ANI), aiming to foster a culture of valuing scientific and technological knowledge in Portugal.
