SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY
For ANI – Agência Nacional de Inovação (National Innovation Agency), the definition of an integrated sustainability strategy necessarily encompasses not only environmental concerns but also the implementation of best management practices for people, business and services and a constant commitment to innovation as a generator of positive impacts on companies, organisations, research centres and society in general.
The challenge of a more socially, economically and environmentally sustainable future requires a strategy centred on innovation.
WE ARE BUILDING A NEW FUTURE, EVERY DAY.

SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIPS
For ANI, the establishment of strategic partnerships is fundamental to the continued promotion of social innovation and the construction of a more sustainable and inclusive future.
Meet our partners
GRACE – RESPONSIBLE COMPANIES
ANI has entered into a partnership with Grace – Responsible Companies, a non-profit business association of public benefit that operates in the areas of Social Responsibility and Sustainability. This partnership will enable ANI to deal with these issues in a more systematised and integrated way, within the framework of 3 pillars, which you can see in the image below.
INNOVATION AND THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY
The Circular Economy is based on a strategic vision of production and consumption based on generating new products, services and new business models through reduction, reuse, recovery and recycling. In this way, the life cycle of products is extended. This opens up a great deal of space for disruptive innovation throughout the value chain and offers countless opportunities.
The transition to a circular economy increases competitiveness, stimulates innovation, encourages economic growth and generates value. Find out more about the projects promoted by ANI.
ReUse by ANI is a pilot project that aims to reuse used tarpaulins from National Innovation Agency events and create recycled materials in conjunction with social and environmental associations such as Cais Recicla.
Cais Recicla is a recycling workshop made up of people who are in a situation of extreme social vulnerability, such as homeless citizens, who find a space there to work on social, personal and creative skills, with the aim of reintegrating them into society. Using materials that would otherwise end up in landfill, they create customised stationery for each partner. Items that combine resistance and functionality with quality craftsmanship and artistry.
The tarpaulins used at ANI events were made available to Cais Recicla, which in turn turned them into lanyards for future National Innovation Agency events. Through this partnership, ANI is promoting social innovation and the circular economy by upcycling materials that were once discarded, contributing to a more inclusive society and a more sustainable environment.
