INTERNATIONALIZATION OF R&D

The System of Incentives for Research and Technological Development (SI I&DT) and the Support System for Scientific and Technological Research (SAICT) support the internationalization of R&D by encouraging companies and other entities from the R&I System to participate in European research and innovation programs, particularly Horizon 2020.

Horizon 2020 Program

The Horizon 2020 Program is the European Commission’s Framework Program for Research and Innovation, active from 2014 to 2020.

The European Commission’s Framework Programs are the main funding instrument for research and innovation in Europe, created to establish a genuine internal market for science and technology and to build Europe’s future.

In Portugal, the GPPQ (Gabinete de Promoção do Programa-Quadro de I&DT) is responsible for monitoring the participation of the scientific and technological community in European Union programs and ensures the collection and dissemination of information regarding the implementation of these programs.
