Call for business R&D projects in strategic areas of Big Science published

New call for proposals under the Accelerate the Economy programme

Notice MPr-2025-03 – ‘SIID – Corporate R&D – Individual or Co-promoted Operations – Big Science Technology Roadmaps’ has been published, which aims to support Research and Development (R&D) projects in frontier technology areas such as Nuclear Fusion, Astronomy, Space and Experimental Particle Physics. This notice corresponds to measure 29 of the ‘Accelerating the Economy’ programme and reinforces the presence of national industry in major international Big Science projects.

ANI is the entity responsible for selecting and managing the applications submitted to this notice under the Research and Development Incentive System (SIID), covering COMPETE 2030 and the Regional Programmes for the Centre, Alentejo, Algarve and Lisbon.

With an allocation of 6 million euros, the call supports individual or co-promoted R&D operations aligned with European technological roadmaps and the priority areas of RIS3 – the Research and Innovation Strategy for Intelligent Specialisation.

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Small Mid Cap companies that meet the legal requirements are eligible. In co-promoted applications, Non-Business Entities of the Research and Innovation System (ENESII) may also participate, including institutions from the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira, if funded by the Innovation and Digital Transition Programme.

Applications are submitted online using the electronic form available here and must be submitted by 30 May (1st phase) and 31 October 2025 (2nd phase).
