COLECTIVE ACTIONS
The Collective Actions Support System aims to strengthen the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge to the business sector and enhance the economic valorization of R&D (Research and Development) results produced by the R&I (Research and Innovation) system.
Beneficiaries of this support are non-business entities from the R&I system that propose to develop projects within their competencies and aim to enhance or improve the surrounding conditions, with a particular focus on collective and intangible competitiveness factors. These projects should result in the provision of goods and/or services with a broad socio-economic impact, inducing sustainable effects on the internationalization of the economy. The benefits should not be privately appropriable nor confer advantages to a specific company or a small group of companies.
Collective Actions must demonstrate a collective, broad, and non-discriminatory nature that can address common risks and opportunities for a large group of companies, ensuring wide publicity of their results. They should be complemented by demonstration and dissemination actions and ensure the free and universal availability of all produced goods and services without benefiting any particular entity.
The SIAC – Collective Action Support System finances structuring projects for the Transfer of Scientific and Technological Knowledge, promoted by non-business entities of the R&I system, under the modality of ‘individual projects’ or ‘collaborative projects,’ in the following categories:
- Initiatives for knowledge interaction and transfer aimed at economic valorization;
- Demonstration actions of technological development aimed at economic valorization;
- Dissemination actions of new knowledge and technologies generated within R&D, for the business sector;
- Dissemination actions in an experimental environment of successful European R&D projects;
- Economic valorization of research results, including patenting and industrial property licensing;
- Promotion of seed and spin-off projects within the R&I system, to transform innovative ideas into business initiatives;
- Promotion of initiatives that, not being part of routine activities, promote the gathering and production of relevant information in the context of technology valorization and transfer, such as roadmapping and technological surveillance.
