The developments carried out as part of this project have made it possible, among other things:
- Significant improvement in the control measures for fishing activities.
- Continuous real-time monitoring with much lower investment and operational costs compared to previous systems.
Practical Benefits for Society:
The completion of the MONICAP project delivered several important benefits, including:
- Ensuring compliance with and control of conservation rules for marine resources, helping to combat fraud, particularly illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
- Certification of marine fishery products.
