The Picasso project aims to develop an innovative line of coloured textile products for the fashion sector, using only compounds of natural origin, extracted from plants and mushrooms, and using colouring processes that are highly resistant to the main constraints of the product’s life cycle.

Challenges Addressed:
The developments carried out as part of this project have made it possible, among other things:
- The development of eco-sustainable processes for obtaining natural-based compounds for subsequent textile colouring and functionalisation;
- The development of two-colour textiles with highly satisfactory colour characteristics.
Practical Benefits for Society:
Following the completion of Picasso a number of benefits have been achieved, such as:
- The development of economically viable eco-sustainable processes that are easy to implement industrially.
- The possibility of obtaining textile products with a lower impact on the environment and human health.
