On June 26, the European Commission will officially launch the 2024-2025 edition of the European Innovation Procurement Awards. The goal is to stimulate demand for innovation through strategies aimed at the public and private sectors for the acquisition of technological goods and services that enhance their operations while offering growth opportunities to start-ups and SMEs providing disruptive solutions.
The awards include two categories:
- Innovation Procurement Initiative Category: Rewards long-term actions and strategies that trigger innovation procurement.
- Addressing Social Challenges Category – “Zero Emission Industry Procurement”: Recognizes innovative procurement practices and solutions that promote circularity, energy efficiency, and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Each category offers the following prizes:
€75,000 for the winner,
€50,000 for the second place,
€25,000 for the third place. The competition is open to any public and private buyer, natural persons, and legal entities from EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries supporting innovative practices.
