Type of Support and Geographic Coverage
Type of Support and Geographic Coverage: This call supports individual Research and Development (R&D) operations conducted by companies, aligned with the priority domains of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization (RIS3). These operations encompass investments in industrial research and experimental development activities, aiming to stimulate economic valorization and promote innovation.
Support is available for operations that incorporate industrial research and experimental development activities, leading to the creation of new products, processes, or services, or to the introduction of significant improvements in existing products, processes, or services.
This call applies to the NUTS II regions of mainland Portugal (North, Center, Lisbon, Alentejo, and Algarve), excluding low-density territories as defined by CIC Portugal 2020 (Low-Density Territories). However, this does not preclude the provisions outlined in the previous paragraph regarding the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira. The project’s location corresponds to the region where the investment is implemented.”

The support provided is in the form of a non-repayable grant.

Application Period
The application period starts on November 30, 2023, with analysis and decision-making carried out according to the following phases:
- Phase 1: February 22, 2024 (6:00 PM) – exclusively for applicants who have registered the aid request through Notice No. 01/RPA/2022.
- Phase 2: April 30, 2024 (6:00 PM) – for all applications, with or without an aid request registration through Notice No. 01/RPA/2022.
- Phase 3: August 30, 2024 (6:00 PM) – for all applications, with or without an aid request registration through Notice No. 01/RPA/2022.
- Phase 4: December 30, 2024 (6:00 PM) – for all applications, with or without an aid request registration through Notice No. 01/RPA/2022.
Aid Request Registrations (RPA No. 01/RPA/2022 for R&D) can be used in any R&D call where this possibility is provided. These RPAs can only be used for a single application.
