Applications open until September 26
On June 26, the European Commission will officially launch the 2024-2025 edition of the European Innovation Procurement Awards. The objective is to stimulate the demand for innovation through strategies dedicated to public and private sectors for the procurement of services and technological goods that enhance their operations while simultaneously providing growth opportunities to startups and SMEs offering disruptive solutions.
The awards have two categories:
- Innovation Procurement Initiative Category: Recognizes actions and long-term strategies that trigger innovation procurement.
- Social Challenges Category: “Zero Emissions Industry Procurement,” which acknowledges procurement practices and innovative solutions promoting circularity, energy efficiency, and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Each category offers prizes of €75,000 for the winner, €50,000 for second place, and €25,000 for third place. The competition is open to any public or private buyer, individuals, and legal entities from EU Member States or Horizon Europe-associated countries that support innovative practices.
