University of Aveiro hosts European meeting dedicated to the future of Advanced Materials

17.Nov.2025

26th and 27th November, Aveiro

In the context of the implementation of the Communication on Advanced Materials for Industrial Leadership, currently underway in the European Union, the event ‘Future of Advanced Materials in Europe’ will take place on 26 and 27 November at the University of Aveiro. The initiative is organised by the Technology Council for Advanced Materials, with the support of ANI.

The Technology Council for Advanced Materials, a high-level body set up by the European Commission, aims to strengthen coordination and collaboration in the field of Advanced Materials, recognised as a strategic area for Europe’s competitiveness and industrial autonomy. This event comes at an important moment, given the progress of preparations for the Advanced Materials Act, an instrument that aims to consolidate the foundations for European innovation and industrial development in this sector.

The meeting aims to provide a platform for consultation and broad participation, involving representatives from academia, industry, public bodies and other stakeholders, with the aim of contributing to the definition of priorities and guidelines that support the future competitiveness of the European Advanced Materials ecosystem.

The initiative will be complemented by the event ‘Future of the European Advanced Materials Ecosystem’, taking place from 27 to 28 November in Aveiro and Porto, providing a detailed analysis of the Iberian Peninsula ecosystem and strengthening the coordination between its main stakeholders.
