Registration in online mapping is still ongoing
The European Commission recently launched the EU Industrial Ecosystem and Industry Performance Monitoring (EMI) initiative. As part of this initiative, the European Commission is currently updating the mapping of Advanced Technology Centres for Industry, which will eventually migrate to a new website.
Mapping is part of the European Commission’s policy to promote greater cooperation between technology centres across Europe in the fields of digitisation, industrial modernisation, greening, energy and resource efficiency.
Technology Centres willing to work with SMEs and Industry are invited to register for online mapping, thus making their centre more visible and accessible.
The mapping includes several technology centres in Europe working on the following technologies:
- Digitalization and industrial modernization
- Advanced manufacturing and robotics
- artificial intelligence
- augmented and virtual reality
- Large volumes of data and cloud computing
- blockchain
- Digital security and networking/cybersecurity
- Digital technology for mobility
- Internet of Things
- Micro and nanoelectronics and photonics
- Greening, energy and resource efficiency
- Advanced materials and nanotechnologies
- Biotechnology, including medical biotechnology
- energy-saving technologies
- Renewable energy technologies (including solar, wind, batteries, geothermal, hydroelectric, biomass, hydrogen)
- Recycling technologies relevant to the circular economy
The criteria for inclusion in the mapping are available here. Technology centres are defined as public or private organisations carrying out applied research and innovation close to the market (TRL technology preparation levels 3 to 8, not necessarily the full range) in advanced technologies for industry.
