The National Innovation Agency (ANI) has awarded the Born from Knowledge (BfK) prize to Smart Trap, developed under the FDControlo Project by INESC-TEC. This initiative introduces an intelligent trap enabling remote monitoring of the insect vector of Flavescence Dorée, which is five to ten times smaller than other insects typically detected by traps. The solution helps combat agricultural waste and reduces pesticide use through early detection, thereby lowering disease-related losses and control costs.
