Program Recognizes Two Portuguese Entrepreneurs

Portuguese entrepreneurs Ângela Carvalho, CEO of BEAT Therapeutics, and Mara Martins, CEO of RYAPURTECH Lda., have been named among the 40 winners of the inaugural call for the Women TechEU program. This initiative is part of the European Prize for Women Innovators, promoted by the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the SME Executive Agency (EISMEA).

The award celebrates women leaders in science, technology, and entrepreneurship who are driving disruptive innovations across Europe. With three award categories, the program highlights the critical role of gender diversity in innovation, aiming to inspire the next generation of women leaders in the tech sector.

In Portugal, the Pillar III of Horizon Europe, under which this award falls, is supported by the National Innovation Agency (ANI), which actively promotes national participation in European science and technology programs.

This recognition reinforces Portugal’s position as a hub for talent and innovation, further elevating the country’s standing on the European stage.
