Young Portuguese man was one of 15 selected

The European Commission recently presented the new youth ambassadors for the Bioeconomy. From among the candidates for the Bioeconomy Youth Ambassadors program, 15 young people from various European Union member states were selected, including one from Portugal.

This select group currently includes João Medeiros, a master’s student in Maritime Law and Economics at the Faculty of Law of NOVA University.

The program’s main objective is to raise awareness and encourage the participation of young people in the importance of the bioeconomy in our daily lives, serving as a source of inspiration for civil society and key stakeholders.

This two-year journey kicked off in Brussels on July 3 and 4, with sessions dedicated to digital communication and combating disinformation, the European Strategy for the Bioeconomy, and the development of a work plan for the coming years.
