Horizon Europe: Consultation on the Strategic R&I Agenda for Cultural Heritage

24.Oct.2024

The ARCHE project – Alliance for Research on Cultural Heritage in Europe, funded under Horizon Europe, launched a public consultation on September 25 regarding the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for Cultural Heritage.

This agenda aims to outline a roadmap of priorities that will form the foundation for project calls and other activities under the European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage, which is set to begin in 2026.

The European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage is part of a package of ten new partnerships proposed within Horizon Europe’s Cluster 2 – Culture, Creativity, and Inclusive Society. The ARCHE project, funded through Horizon Europe, is designed to prepare this Partnership.

The ARCHE project seeks to develop a European framework for a holistic approach to research and innovation in Cultural Heritage. This will be achieved through a European Alliance for Cultural Heritage Research and the creation of a coordination network that brings together researchers, innovators, heritage professionals, governmental entities, and citizens. The goal is to engage all Cultural Heritage stakeholders in the co-design of research and innovation strategies and roadmaps in this field.

The project’s primary expected outcome is the identification of research and innovation gaps and needs in the Cultural Heritage sector over the next decade, which will form the basis for designing the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA).
