European Commission launches public consultation on the future European Innovation Act

11.Jul.2025

Public consultation open until 17th September

On 9 July, the European Commission launched a public consultation on the future European Innovation Act, with the aim of gathering contributions to create a more coherent and effective policy framework for promoting innovation across the European Union.

The initiative is aimed at all citizens and organisations – including companies, startups, universities, research centres and public authorities – and aims to gather opinions on the main challenges to innovation in Europe and the measures needed to overcome them.

The future European Innovation Act should strengthen Europe’s attractiveness and competitiveness as an area of innovation, with a particular focus on areas such as deep tech, sustainability and social innovation. The proposal also aims to align existing policies, bridge structural gaps in the European ecosystem and ensure that innovation takes centre stage in the digital and ecological transitions, contributing to the Union’s technological autonomy.

Contributions can be submitted via the Have Your Say portal.
