Pre-call 2025

The EIT Higher Education Initiative (HEI) continues to transform the landscape of higher education in Europe by promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in academic institutions.

Since its launch, the initiative has supported 65 projects involving 359 higher education institutions (HEIs) and more than 380 non-academic organisations, with total funding exceeding €69 million. This joint effort has resulted in the training of more than 118,000 students, academics and professionals, and direct support for more than 2,000 start-ups and scale-ups.

Through competitive tenders, the initiative offers non-repayable grants to consortia composed of HEIs and strategic partners, with the aim of strengthening innovation capacity, fostering entrepreneurship and promoting collaboration between academia, industry, research institutions and public authorities.

In connection with this initiative, the webinar ‘Choose Europe – But Why Should They?’ will be held on 20th November, discussing how higher education institutions can strengthen their role of excellence for researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs, addressing topics such as career paths, recognition, visa support, partnerships with industry and inclusive innovation.

The event will feature experts from various European universities and will conclude with a question and answer session. Register for the webinar using the following form.

The next Call for Proposals will be announced at the end of 2025, promising to further expand the initiative’s reach and involve new partners across Europe.

Further information and updates are available on the EIT HEI website.
