BGI Sustainable Ventures presented the third edition of INSPIRE Circular Agrifood School, an international program dedicated to circularity and sustainability in the agri-food sector, focusing on the development of practical skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Aimed at students, researchers, and professionals from around the world, the initiative takes place in a hybrid format and is based on challenge-based learning:
- Online phase (September 8 to 19): live sessions, interactive workshops, and collaborative group work;
- In-person phase (September 29 to October 3): in Setúbal, Portugal, with practical activities, field visits, and direct mentoring with industry experts and stakeholders.
The program involves startups, companies, and organizations that are leaders in the transition to circularity, including Food4Sustainability, AmpliAqua, Genky, Seaqure Labs, Bondalti, MicroHarvest, and Novamont. Over three weeks, participants will explore topics such as the regeneration of agri-food systems, waste mapping, bioplastics, circular proteins, bioenergy, and blue biotechnology.
