Applications for the 2024 edition of the Global Awards of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) are open until March 31. This edition has a new category dedicated to start-ups.

The initiative aims to recognize exceptional examples of commercialization of Intellectual Property (IP) with social and economic impact. SMEs from around the world and from all sectors of the economy – technology, agriculture, creative industries and beyond – are invited to submit applications based on any form of IP, from copyright to patents.

An independent panel of experts will select seven winners, who were subsequently invited to participate in the award ceremony in Geneva in July. Winners will receive a personalised mentoring programme, easy access to funding and business partnership opportunities.
