Portugal Ventures, a venture capital company of the Banco Português de Fomento Group, in partnership with ANI, and with the collaboration of Startup Portugal, launched the 4th Edition of the INNOV-ID Call, which will allow investment in 10 projects. Applications run until November 22.
This new edition of the Call INNOV-ID results from its impact and in the ecosystem’s continuous request for the need to respond to the identified market failure in access to investment in pre-seed startups. This new call comes to continue the training of startups of financial means to continue developing their projects.
Candidate projects shall contribute to one of these axes:
- decarbonisation of the economy;
- sustainability of processes, products and materials;
- energy efficiency and sustainability;
- Circularity of the economy.
In the INNOV-ID call projects are eligible: that are in the phases Pre-seed, Seed or Early-Stage; of companies not incorporated or incorporated for at least 8 years, with headquarters in mainland Portugal or islands, which already have developed technology, but which were in the prototype phase, proof of concept or validation of product-market-fit; resulting from scientific, technological or academic research and development, developed within Higher Education Institutions, CTI, Collaborative Laboratories or similar, in order to enhance the transfer of knowledge to companies and their transformation into innovation; and to promote or employ highly qualified human resources.
Like previous editions, applications will have to be submitted exclusively through one of the entities of the Ignition Partner Network of Portugal Ventures.
After launching in 2020, in response to a challenge launched by the Ministry of Economy with the aim of mitigating the effects that were felt in the market by the pandemic, the three editions of the INNOV-ID Call registered 313 applications and 55 investments for a total of 5,5 million euros invested.
