On May 29, 2024, a new call, identified as MPr-2024-6, was published to support the internationalization of research, development, and innovation (RDI) in Portugal. This call aims to assist in the preparation and submission of applications to European RDI programs such as Horizon Europe, EUREKA, Digital Europe Programme, Research Fund for Coal and Steel, and the European Defence Fund.
The main objective of this call is to promote the internationalization of RDI, increasing the competitive capacity of Portuguese companies by preparing and submitting proposals to European RDI programs. Funded operations must align with the National Strategy for Smart Specialization (ENEI) or, in the case of Regional Programs, with the priorities and domains of the regional RIS3.
Eligible applicants include micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as small mid-cap companies (Small Mid Cap) of any nature and legal form, provided they meet the eligibility requirements set out in Decree-Law No. 20-A/2023 and the Specific Regulation for Innovation and Digital Transition (REITD).
Operations must comply with the eligibility requirements defined in the applicable legislation and present a participation plan for European programs. The maximum duration of operations is 24 months, with the possibility of extension under exceptional circumstances.
The application submission period starts on June 7, 2024, and ends on September 30, 2024, at 6:00 PM. The total available budget is €5,125,000.
