The Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission (DG REGIO) is seeking external experts to assess applications for the 2025 edition of the New European Bauhaus (NEB) Prizes. The call for expressions of interest is open until October 16, 2024.
This call invites external experts to analyze individual applications for the 2025 NEB Prizes, focusing on the NEB’s three core values—sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion—and its operating principles: participatory, multi-level, and transdisciplinary approaches.
From the pool of interested candidates, the European Commission will select experts to form a jury to evaluate the finalist applications and recommend the winners to the Commission’s Evaluation Committee. Not all experts assessing individual applications will necessarily join the jury.
Who can apply for this call?
The call is open to individuals with professional experience, expertise, or education in at least one of the three NEB values. Priority will be given to those with experience in at least two NEB values or with a combination of expertise in one NEB value and one NEB operating principle. The Commission is also seeking experts capable of evaluating community-based initiatives submitted by small organizations, particularly those focusing on the built environment and offering solutions for sustainable, inclusive, and affordable housing.
