The INOV Contacto, an international internship program promoted by AICEP – Portugal’s Trade & Investment Agency, returns with exciting updates, including, for the first time, the availability of international internships in the Big Science field.
The Agência Nacional de Inovação (ANI) will facilitate partnerships between Portuguese companies and international scientific organizations (Big Science) and collaborate with AICEP to identify profiles for these internships. Opportunities will focus on high-tech areas and shared interests between companies and Big Science organizations, including entities such as CERN and ITER, which are directly supported by ANI.
“INOV Contacto is a national and international benchmark program showcasing Portuguese talent to the world. It is a great honor for ANI to partner with this initiative. Combining national talent with frontier technological projects in Big Science organizations adds significant value to Portuguese companies,” said António Grilo, ANI President.
The 27th edition, for 2024/2025, which has a total of 105 international internships and an extended internship duration from six to nine months, is an opportunity for young Portuguese to start their careers in an international environment, enriching their professional career with skills on how foreign markets, large companies and international organizations work.
“We are certain that this is a model that meets the increasingly competitive environment of the job market, with an increased focus on innovation, thus raising the level of preparation of the young people who will attend the program for the benefit of the competitiveness of Portuguese companies in foreign markets,” says AICEP President Ricardo Arroja.
With nearly three decades of history, INOV Contacto has trained over 6,000 young professionals. It boasts a high employability rate and widespread satisfaction among both interns and partner companies.
