On November 18, ANI will host the Forum on Innovation and Smart Specialization at the Cupertino de Miranda Foundation in Porto, a meeting that aims to reinforce reflection and dialogue on the paths of innovation, cohesion policy, and smart specialization strategies (S3) in Europe.

This event aims to promote the sharing of experiences and reflection on the future of Smart Specialization Strategies in Portugal and Europe. The Forum provides a space for knowledge sharing and bringing together decision-makers, academics, experts, and the rest of the national innovation community, with the aim of strengthening the link between innovation strategies and other public policies, including their territorialization. The initiative is part of ANI’s mission to promote public innovation policies in line with the European initiative to promote smart specialization strategies and to strengthen Portugal’s role in European innovation networks.

The event agenda includes sessions dedicated to topics such as interregional collaboration in the context of S3, the impact, lessons, and challenges of Cohesion Policy, especially with regard to Innovation Policies and Smart Specialization Strategies, and the future of smart specialization in a context of the need to strengthen Europe’s strategic autonomy in terms of competitiveness.
