ANI, in conjunction with Portugal Ventures and Startup Portugal, will support €10.6 million in new ignition funds and project applications to the EIC Accelerator.
The Portuguese Government has announced the Deep2Start program, aimed at supporting deep tech innovation in Portugal. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the ANI, Portugal Ventures, and Startup Portugal, will provide €10.6M in public funding for the creation of ignition funds and support for project applications to the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator.
The Deep2Start program, which is due to be launched in the first quarter of 2025, also includes a Deep Tech fund with 50 million euros in public funding, with private investment expected to reach a total of 100 million. These funds will be directed towards projects that promote the green and energy transition, in partnership with institutions such as Banco Português de Fomento and Portugal Ventures.
The aim of this initiative is to strengthen support for the national deep tech and manufacturing sector, boosting the development of new technologies that strengthen the Portuguese economy.
