27th June, 09h30 | Online session
ANI, in collaboration with FCT, will hold an online information session on the new EIC Pre-Accelerator pilot on 27 June, between 09:30 and 10:30. This initiative is aimed at SMEs and deeptech startups with a low level of technological maturity, with the aim of presenting the framework of this new initiative and its role as a preparation route for the EIC Accelerator.
The session will feature Ewa Kocinska-Lange, Policy Officer at DG Research & Innovation for the European Innovation Council (EIC), who will highlight the main measures associated with the EIC Pre-Accelerator, the evaluation criteria and other relevant information for preparing and submitting applications.
The EIC Pre-Accelerator is an initiative for Widening countries, aimed at SMEs and deeptech startups at intermediate stages of development (TRL 4-6), with the ambition of scaling their deeptech innovations to the market. Through lump sum funding of between €300,000 and €500,000 per project, this action aims to: facilitate access to the EIC Accelerator; attract private investment; promote access to national funding, including programmes with the Seal of Excellence (SoE).
The EIC Pre-Accelerator is the result of a collaboration between the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the WIDERA programme (Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area), and is funded under the WIDERA Work Programme 2025. See details of the competition here.
