Joint declaration highlights strategic areas such as health, green transition and circular economy

On January 17, the European Union and the United States signed a Joint Declaration under the EU-US Agreement on Cooperation in Science and Technology. This commitment strengthens strategic partnerships and cooperation in research and innovation, with the aim of promoting scientific excellence and responding to emerging global challenges.

Among the priority areas highlighted are health, with a focus on innovations for health crises; the green transition, which covers technologies such as carbon-neutral aviation; oceans, with an emphasis on the sustainable management of marine resources; climate, with advances in climate modeling and net-zero emission buildings; and the circular economy, exploring biotechnologies for sustainability.

The partnership reinforces the global goals of carbon neutrality and a sustainable economy, aligning efforts to tackle environmental and social challenges together.
