The European Commissioner for Research, Iliana Ivanova, announced on March 18th the launch of the unit cost option for personnel costs in the EC Framework Program for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe and EURATOM.
Objective: Simplify the process for personnel costs, which represent the largest expense category in Horizon Europe.
Effective Date: Starting May 1, 2024.
Eligibility:Applies to beneficiaries using actual costs.
Procedure:Based on the historical personnel cost records of the institution.
Requires certification from a certified auditor (as per Directive 2006/43/EC) and approval by the European Commission services.
Validity:Once approved, the unit cost methodology will remain valid for 2 years.
