The EIT Higher Education Initiative (HEI), a cross-community activity of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), recognizes higher education institutions (HEIs) as key players in regional and European innovation ecosystems. The initiative aims to enhance the innovation capacity and entrepreneurial mindset of HEIs while fostering collaboration between academia, industry, research, public authorities, and governmental organizations.
The initiative currently has a call for proposals running until December 12, with the aim of funding up to 42 innovative projects, a total duration of 25 months and an overall budget of 55 million euros. The call is aimed at HEIs that want to strengthen their innovation and entrepreneurship capacities and also other entities with strong innovative and entrepreneurial capacities, such as companies, research centers, NGOs, public administration, etc.
This edition has two strands:
- Strand A: Development of innovation and entrepreneurial capacity in HEIs.
- Strand B: Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in HEIs focused on developing deep tech technologies.
Through the Networking and Matchmaking platform, participants can register and find partners to form a consortium.
