EIT FOOD SEEKS INNOVATIONS IN THE FOOD SECTOR TO ADDRESS NUTRITION CHALLENGES

EIT Food has launched the next phase of the EIT Food RIS Consumer Engagement Labs, considered the largest food co-creation initiative in Europe.

From 2019 to 2023, over 100 consumer panels and 49 companies from 17 European countries collaborated to develop and bring more than 20 innovative food products to market. From 2024 to 2025, the methodology will be targeted to address social challenges linked to specific nutrition and protein diversification.

This program seeks not only to drive innovation in the food sector, but also to contribute to reducing obesity in adults and non-communicable food-related diseases. The new solutions will be co-created in collaboration with consumers, promoting a wave of innovations in the market and encouraging companies to meet the specific needs of selected groups of consumers.

The initiative targets scientific organizations and food companies from, EU Member States, Horizon Europe-associated countries, Outermost regions. The deadline for applications is 12 February 2024, until 11:00 AM CET.
