EIT Food promotes carbon farming practices in southern Europe

4.Apr.2025

Applications until 16th May

EIT Food South is coordinating the LILAS4SOILS project, funded by the Horizon Europe programme, which aims to promote carbon farming practices in southern Europe and the Mediterranean. The initiative will create five Living Laboratories in six countries – Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Greece and Israel – fostering collaboration between farmers, agri-food companies, researchers and local authorities.

Through this call, 50 farmers will be selected to apply carbon farming practices on 85 to 100 pilot sites. Each participant will receive 5,000 euros/year for three years, committing to implement the techniques on 1 to 5 hectares for four years, sharing data to analyse the variability of carbon in the soil.
