The EIT Food innovation and knowledge community has launched an opportunity for dedicated funding to change society’s food systems.
Funding focuses on two distinct areas: larger-scale collaborative programmes and unique innovative projects. The funding of the Collaborative Missions Programme aims to co-finance alliances and collaborative programmes designed to improve the impact of diet on obesity and non-communicable diseases, reduce the environmental damage related to the food system and address the threats posed by food integrity and complex supply chains.
Funding unique projects seeks innovative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges in innovation, entrepreneurship and education. These projects must be accelerated in terms of obtaining solutions where they are most needed. Three of the priority areas that could have the greatest long-term impact are:
- diversification of proteins;
- regenerative agriculture;
- Packaging, labelling and transparency.
