EIE: EXPANDING ACADEMIA-BUSINESS COLLABORATIONS

5.Jul.2024

Horizon Europe has announced a new call aimed at fostering connectivity and creating innovation ecosystems by promoting closer collaboration between educational and research institutions and innovation hubs, such as start-ups, incubators, accelerators, business angels, and investor communities. The initiative also seeks to design activities that encourage educational and research institutions to adopt a more entrepreneurial role.

The types of projects supported by this call include the co-development of activity programs jointly proposed by educational and research institutions and other innovation and research (I&I) actors from less developed innovation ecosystems, classified as “emerging” or “moderate innovators.” Collaboration with the private sector in high-performing innovation hubs, categorized as “strong” and “innovation leaders,” aims to ensure better performance and connection between these ecosystems, promoting their expansion and interconnection throughout the European Union.

This call is open to educational and research institutions, as well as other public and private actors within innovation ecosystems.
