In the November 2023 funding round, the EIC Accelerator supported 42 companies out of 1,076 applicants (success rate: 3.9%), with a total of €285 million awarded. From Portugal, 21 companies participated, and one received approved funding, achieving a national success rate of 4.8%
The Portuguese start-up Delox received a total support of €4,721,610.00 (€1,893,340.00 in Grant + €2,828,270.00 in Equity). Delox focuses on developing innovative solutions for large-scale indoor air bio-decontamination and is preparing to launch a technology on the global market that will enable the safe use of hospitals, schools, and services, reducing the need for social distancing even in pandemic contexts.
Since its launch in March 2021, 14 national deep tech companies have had funding approved by the European Innovation Council (EIC), totaling around 77.8 million Euros (€) in the EIC Accelerator, the main instrument of the initiative integrated into Pillar III of Horizon Europe.
The EIC Accelerator aims to support start-ups and SMEs with disruptive technologies in developing their businesses on a global scale, by offering non-repayable funding of up to €2.5M, combined with equity investments of up to €15M from the EIC Fund.
In addition to financial support, all companies benefit from Business Acceleration Services that provide access to investment and growth opportunities worldwide.
