Energy poverty is the focus of this edition

The European Social Innovation Competition, promoted by the European Innovation Council (EIC), selected as finalist the Portuguese non-profit association, Just a Change, whose mission is to rebuild the homes of needy people. Among the 15 finalists are projects from eight more countries (Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, France, Greece and Italy), where Portugal is among the finalists presented. In early November the three winners will be presented.

Just a Change was recognised by the EIC as having an inspiring vision on how to tackle this year’s challenge: energy poverty. This competition aims to stimulate the potential of social innovation to provide solutions to societal challenges and promote sustainable and inclusive growth in Europe.

The initiative is promoted in Portugal by the National Innovation Agency (ANI), within the PERIN Network.
