ANI PARTICIPATES IN SEMINAR “HORIZON PROGRAMME EUROPE: INNOVATION & DEVELOPMENT FOR CITIES”

14.Mar.2024

The Municipality of Maia will promote a “city forum” on Horizon Europe and how cities can capitalise on the opportunities offered by this European financing instrument. This initiative will take place in the Auditorium of TECMAIA, on March 20, from 09:00 to 12:30.

The event takes place within the framework of the participation of the Municipality of Maia in the SPARCS project (Sustainable Energy Positive & Zero Carbon Communities), which aims to explore innovative solutions in urban energy systems, to transform cities into sustainable, smart, carbon neutral and community-focused ecosystems.

The seminar will be open to the public and will be attended by the national contact points of Horizonte Europa da ANI, Margarida Oliveira and Flávio Soares. It will also be presented the Network of Portuguese Cities and Regions for Climate Neutrality and the testimonies of Cities with concrete experiences in the scope of Horizon Europe, through the projects SPARCS, ATELIER and POCITYF.

The objectives of this meeting are to inform Portuguese municipalities about the challenges and opportunities that the “2021-2027 Horizon Europe Programme” implies for innovation in local governance, strengthen the participation of Portuguese cities in international R&D programs and enhance articulations with other territorial cohesion instruments, such as the Recovery and Resilience Program (PRP) and Portugal 2030.

Registration is available here. See the agenda here.
