The Science Meeting is the annual event dedicated to science, technology, and innovation in Portugal. This year, held in Porto, the theme is “+Science for One Health and Global Well-Being.”
The event will discuss the role of science in the interface with health and well-being, addressing topics such as Digital Health, Artificial Intelligence, and the promotion of Health Education, among others.
ANI is organizing a series of sessions over two days. On July 4, the opening session will be led by António Grilo, president of ANI, starting at 11:30. This will be followed by the first session “World Café: Let’s talk about Horizon Europe”, moderated by ANI, among others. On July 5, the morning session “Interface Mission: from Science to the Market” will take place, comprising a progress report by ANI and two round tables on “The Role of STIs and CoLABs in the Innovation Cycle” and “Internationalization: from Knowledge Chains to the Market”. The event will be closed by António Grilo, president of ANI.
The program of the Science 2024 Meeting includes seven plenary sessions spread over the three days of the event. Plenary session 1 “Beyond the AI hype: Balancing Innovation and Social Responsibility” and Plenary session 2 “The Colors of Life + Teaming for Excellence” are scheduled for the 3rd. Plenary session 3 “One Health” and Plenary session 4 “Diseases and Therapies of the Future” are scheduled for the 4th. On the 5th, the last day of the event, the Plenary 5 sessions “Sustainability for the 21st century. Where science goes and where politics begins”, Plenary session 6 ‘Research plus Digital’, and Plenary session 7 ‘Health plus Science’.
Thematic sessions will be taking place at the same time. ANI will take part in the session “Solo pilar de uma só saúde – Participação Portuguesa na Missão Solo” on July 4, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., in Sala S. João. More information is available here.
