In 2022, to mark its 25th anniversary, INOVA+ launched the first edition of this Prize, dedicated to Scientific and Business Innovation: the first award of its kind in Portugal. ANI was part of the jury panel for this edition, which resulted in around 230 expressions of interest and 50 formalised applications.
The INOVA+ Prize aims to recognise differentiating products, services, solutions and/or technologies in emerging areas, capable of responding to the main European priorities.
This second edition is divided into three categories: Scientific Innovation, Business Innovation and Innovation for Creative Cities. In each category, the first place winner will receive a cash prize of 5,000 euros, while the second and third place winners will have access to specialised consultancy services worth 2,500 euros.
Applications are open until 21 June 2024. Subsequently, the candidate projects will be assessed by the jury, chaired by Eurico Neves, Chairman of INOVA+, and made up of representatives of the partner organisations of the INOVA+ 2024 Award: ANI – National Innovation Agency, the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP), the Coordinating Council of Higher Polytechnic Institutes (CCISP), the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities (CRUP) and the Directorate-General for the Arts (DGArtes).
The Innovation for Creative Cities category will have an additional evaluation period, during which six finalists selected by the jury will be subject to a public vote to decide the three winners. The winners of all the categories will be announced in October.
This initiative has the high patronage of His Excellency, the President of the Republic.
