16.Sep.2024

The National Innovation Agency (ANI), through its Born from Knowledge (BfK) program, has once again partnered with the World Summit Awards (WSA), a global competition focused on local digital innovation with social impact. Applications are open until September 26.

The selection of national projects is led by APDC. National digital projects can apply in the following eight categories: Government and Citizen Engagement; Health and Well-being; Education and Learning; Environment and Green Energy; Culture and Tourism; Smart Settlements and Urbanization; Business and Commerce; Inclusion and Empowerment.

The best national project with a scientific and technological basis will be awarded by ANI, through the BfK distinction, with a monetary prize of €2,500. This prize will enable the participation of two individuals in the WSA Global Congress, to be held in April 2025 in India.

The WSA, a global initiative supported by the United Nations, annually recognizes and rewards innovative digital solutions with societal impact. With participation from over 180 countries, it serves as a renowned platform where digital projects and entrepreneurs can gain worldwide recognition. Portugal has distinguished itself in all editions with winning projects.

Born from Knowledge is a program that aims to promote a culture of valuing scientific and technological knowledge in Portugal, recognizing and rewarding good practices and success stories.
