The winners of the 4th edition of the Ageas Innovation in Prevention Award with Exame magazine, which for the first time had the support of the National Innovation Agency (ANI), represented by Henrique Figueiredo as a member of the jury, are now known.
For the fourth year running, this initiative is rewarding innovative business practices in the field of prevention and safety in order to disseminate examples of projects and good practices to the market, promoting a culture of risk management and safe behaviour.
The judging panel was made up of 13 members and 11 organisations, including ANI, Ageas, ISQ, Ordem dos Economistas, CIP – Confederação Empresarial de Portugal, IAPMEI, COTEC Portugal, AHP – Associação da Hotelaria de Portugal, COMPETE 2030 and A Cor do Dinheiro.
This edition included three categories – People, Heritage and Environment – as well as the Best Prevention Innovation Project.
In the People category, the winning project belongs to ANYWIND – Energias Renováveis, Lda with the Safety Credit Card (SCC) Programme, which prevents accidents at work and promotes Health and Safety at Work (HST) through a scoring system. Risk situations are reported via the app and the points are converted into monthly bonuses.
The Heritage category honours VANTAGE TOWERS, S.A. for its Smartlock Installation project, which aims to replace traditional locks with intelligent models that identify the user and communicate the opening/closing in real time. By means of electronic keys synchronised by an application, it is possible to monitor who is in the stations and guarantee the safety of the workers.
At Ambiente, the “Micro Nebula” project by ACATEL – Acabamentos Têxteis, S.A. represents a significant innovation for the textile industry by using air nanobubbles to replace water in wear procedures.
