Continuing their joint initiatives within the PERIN network, the FCT and ANI are organizing a session dedicated to the European Research Council (ERC) and European Innovation Council (EIC) programs under Horizon Europe. The session will take place on June 7, from 09:30 to 11:00, in a digital format.
Event Theme
The session, titled “Opportunities to fund R&D projects with components of scientific excellence,” Will explore potential synergies between the two programs and highlight their distinct features. It aims to address candidates’ questions and prepare them to craft successful proposals.
ERC and EIC Overview
The ERC and EIC are key programs within Horizon Europe designed to fund R&D projects with exceptional scientific components. ERC: Falls under Pillar I – Scientific Excellence, focusing on cutting-edge research aimed at advancing scientific frontiers.
EIC: Part of Pillar II – Innovative Europe, supporting emerging and disruptive technological solutions. Both focus on research projects with the aim of achieving scientific breakthroughs and emerging and disruptive technological solutions. This session will help participants understand the similarities and differences between the two programs, enabling them to leverage funding opportunities effectively and plan a medium- to long-term technological development strategy.
