Winners to be announced on 7th December
The EU Prize for Women Innovators is an initiative of the European Commission to celebrate the inspiring women responsible for Europe’s most innovative technologies. In the 2022 edition, four Portuguese women are among the 14 finalists.
Lorena Diéguez, Sara Abalde-Cela and Paulina Piairo, co-founders of RUBYnanomed, a company developing a non-invasive device for monitoring cancer progression, are finalists in the Women Innovators category. Mehak Mumtaz, co-founder of iLoF, a company that is developing an innovative platform to accelerate the future of personalised drug discovery and development, is a finalist in the Rising Innovators category.
This is a competition funded by the European Innovation Council under Horizon Europe, in which three prizes worth €100,000 each will be awarded, as well as three prizes, marking the European Year of Youth, worth €50,000 to three emerging female innovators under the age of 35.
The winners will be announced at the European Innovation Council Summit, an event scheduled for 7 and 8 December.
