The product will feature decorative surfaces combining various textures and finishes, eliminating the need for painting and\/or IML\/IMD technology. It will include tactile functionality and haptic feedback through electronic integration, as well as lighting achieved by integrating light conductors and backlighting systems for chrome parts. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Promoters:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fehstgroup.com\/pt\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fehst Componentes, Lda;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uminho.pt\/PT\" target=\"_blank\">University of Minho;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.piep.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\">PIEP \u2013 Polymer Engineering Innovation Pole.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Challenges Addressed:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The developments under this project enabled the following advancements:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creation of new solutions for the decoration and functionalization of plastic component surfaces that will constitute the interior of next-generation car cabins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Automation of processes, reduction of manufacturing steps, and cost reduction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Practical Benefits for Society:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The completion of the FAGI project delivered several benefits, including:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Technological innovation in differentiated products and advanced production processes, impacting the automotive sector, particularly in product design and functionality, advanced manufacturing, and sustainability;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Integration of technologies into a single innovative product, enabling the elimination of manufacturing process steps, thereby increasing productivity and reducing costs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"452\" height=\"237\" src=\"http:\/\/ani.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/FAGI-PIEP.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8527\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ani.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/FAGI-PIEP.png 452w, https:\/\/ani.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/FAGI-PIEP-300x157.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 452px) 100vw, 452px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.piep.pt\/fehst-avantgarde-interiors\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Find out more about the project here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FAGI \u2013 FEHST AVANTGARDE INTERIORS project focuses on the development of an aesthetic and multifunctional interior car door trim.
